For Whom the Bell Tolls written by ernest hemingway

I read "For Whom the Bell Tolls "
Do you know this book? It's famous in Japan. Japanese title is "TAGATAME NI KANEHANARU"
It made a screen version about　fifty years ago but I haven't watched it.
I heard a main topic is LOVE but I don't agree it now. This storys' beginning is very difficult.
Robert Jordan , who is main bharacter, rebel ageinst fascist regime in Spain but he is American.
So, he is a volunteer soldier.
His mission is to break a brige which is very inportant for fascist army.
He is very serious guy and he has very big resoinsibility for his mission. But his groups' persons is very inconsiderate. I think he isn't adapt himself to this group...

I haven't read the LOVE story part. So I want to read more!
